Pam and I have some strange ties to Ted.
During the early 80's, we helped run a hunting and fishing lodge on Lake Gogebic in Michigans Upper Peninsular.. 
Ted, an avid hunter, along with his entourage of hunting dogs and other crazy people, would come up bear hunting during the late fall.
I had just constructed a huge "buck pole" from giant pine trees on the property that year.
Those guys filled it with bear, all taken by bow and arrow...

I stepped on a couple of small chards from a previously broken longneck bottle of Road Dog.
Three plus hours in ER, extraction was a success?
