This Summers  Green House  Nasturtium - (Tropaeolum majus)
Nasturtiums are a native of Peru, brought by Spanish conquistadors to Spain early in the sixteenth century.
This bright yellow, orange or red flower traveled to England at the end of the sixteenth century as a decorative plant.
Monet's famous garden at Giverny was laden with nasturtiums as they fit the impressionist style of shimmering, blurred colors and spilled over pathways like enthusiastic brush strokes.

old man of the woods

"In fact, the deeper you penetrate into the woods, the more intelligent, and, in one sense, less countrified do you find the inhabitants; for always the pioneer has been a traveler, and, to some extent, a man of the world; and, as the distances with which he is familiar are greater, so is his information more general and far reaching than the villager's."
Henry David Thoreau (18171862), U.S. philosopher, author, naturalist.
